- 1 lb (450 g) lean ground beef
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp paprika (optional)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta:
- Boil pasta in salted water until al dente (1-2 minutes less than package instructions). Drain and set aside.
- Prepare the Meat Sauce:
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté onion and garlic until fragrant.
- Add ground beef, breaking it apart as it cooks. Season with salt, pepper, oregano, basil, garlic powder, and paprika. Cook until browned.
- Stir in tomato sauce and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
- Combine Pasta and Sauce:
- Mix cooked pasta with the meat sauce. Stir in half the cheddar cheese.
- Bake (Optional):
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish, top with remaining cheddar and mozzarella cheese.
- Bake for 20 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly and golden. Broil for 2-3 minutes for extra crispiness.
- Serve:
- Garnish with parsley and serve warm with sides like garlic bread or salad.
